HOW TO CRUSH MINI GOALS & MONTHLY CHALLENGES

Goal setting doesn’t always have to consist of creating BIG CHALLENGES. You can have fun and see amazing results with creating small goals too!

I have found that creating Mini Goals & Monthly Challenges works really well for me. My monthly challenges have helped me create some amazing habits like: eating healthier, exercising, meditation, self-care, reading and learning new skills.

Try challenging yourself for ONE MONTH to accomplish a goal. You may find that you have finally created that healthy new habit that you have wanted to put into action…No more talking about it…it’s time to start doing! 🙂

Below are 5 guidelines to help you CRUSH MINI GOALS & CHALLENGES:

  1. BE SPECIFIC: Write down what you actually want to accomplish. Do you want to eat healthier, get fit, read more? What exactly does that entail and how will you accomplish it? For example: When I wanted to incorporate more exercise throughout my day- I created a mini goal to start doing a variety of 150 squats each day for the first week. To build on my progress, I added an additional 150 squats to each day, each following week thru my month challenge. In one month’s time, I was doing a variety of 600 squats throughout my day. This challenge totally helped me establish a new exercise habit and helped me really start transforming my shape!
  2. BE REALISTIC: You need to ask yourself: Is this attainable? Drastic challenges are harder to accomplish if you are not realistic with them. When creating big change, sometimes you need to break your steps into bite size pieces to increase your success. A series of mini goals can help you build on your progress.
  3. MAKE A PLAN: It’s hard to create new habits- even when you are super motivated to do so. When I used mini goals to help me makeover my morning time, I created a plan of small goals that I could build on. I had a plan of what habits I wanted to incorporate into my routine. And wow- I absolutely love my morning routine now!
  4. CREATE A TIMELINE: Break your goal down into steps. Breaking your goal into smaller increments helps you schedule your goal into your daily routine.
  5. MAKE AN ACCOUNTABILITY PLAN: Schedule your goal into your daily planner. You can also set a daily reminder on your phone too. Check them off as you complete your task. This is a great way to create routine and visually track your progress.

It’s always good to review and assess your goals to see what is or isn’t working or if you need to up your challenge! If something isn’t working- what is holding you back? Do you need to define your goals more?

Strive to make progress and find what works for you. Don’t give up if you fail, struggle or lose motivation. Just keep up your head up and try again. Feeling the struggle can help you make your own breakthrough!
