SET GOALS & CRUSH THEM

creating vision is the key to creating change. 

are you’re feeling lost, stuck, stressed, or drained?  I’ve been there too. It can be frustrating when you feel like you’re letting time pass by with no real progress for days, months, or even years at at time.

What changed for me was when I asked myself, do I want the next 5 years of my life to look like the last 5 years? 

That’s is when it finally hit me…I needed to create more vision for myself. 

I realized that I had to adopt a different mindset in the process too.  A mindset that was open to making change and taking action. I was grateful that I was at a point in my life where I could see from a new perspective and that I was now ready for more growth.  I gave myself permission to appreciate where I was, and to love myself through the process of my new growth.

If you’re ready to create more growth in your life too, below are 6 steps to help you define goals and create vision.

6 STEPS FOR CREATING GOALS & VISION

STEP 1:
Write down 10 goals that you would like to accomplish.

These can be short term, long term, big and small. Just use your imagination and put some thought into this. What changes would you like to make in your life? 

STEP 2:
Write down how you would accomplish each of them.

• What steps you would need to take to achieve them?
• What obstacles do you foresee that could hold you back?
• What steps could you take to overcome these obstacles?

STEP 3:

Make your goals SMART
• Specific
• Measurable 
• Achievable 
• Realistic (Don’t play too small. Stretch yourself…think of some BIG goals too!)
• Time bound 

Prioritize them and plan on how you’re going to incorporate working towards them into your day, week, month and year.

STEP 4:
Let’s get some vision!

Using the power of visualization along with your goal setting, can help you cultivate the needed momentum to make your dreams come true.

Close your eyes and envision what each of your goals would look and feel like to accomplish them.  What would your life look like if you reached your goals?  How would you feel about yourself and your growth?

To help you materialize your vision into a form- look for pictures that represet your goals. You can find pictures online, in magazines or take pictures of your own. 

STEP 5:

Make a vision board or a vision book.

Use your creativity and have fun with this!

I personally love to create vision books, so I can carry it with me to review daily.

In my vision book I have pages with affirmations, goals and pages with beautiful photos that showcase my goal vision. 

I have a section that lists the goals that I have set for myself, written in the SMART format.

I have another section just for my goal vision. My pages are made with beautiful background paper and pictures, words, affirmations and quotes that light my heart up each time I look at them! Not only does this help me envision my future self, it helps me feel how amazing it would be to accomplish my goals.

You could also create a vision board to showcase your dreams. This should be somewhere you will see it daily. I have both. I put my board where I can easily review it daily.

If you want to do one or both, GO FOR IT! Use whatever works best for you. 

Just have fun with it and ignite your IMAGINATION!

STEP 6:

Commit to creating a routine.

Routine takes discipline and a commitment to yourself- you deserve this! You are so worth the dreams that you have set for yourself.  If you want to create change in your life, what you willing to do to make it happen?

Plan your days to include reviewing your goals and vision board and work on the steps needed to make your dreams come true. 

The secret to your future is driven by your daily routine.
